2006 Mazda 3 Dying out and jumpy tachometer needle

Asked by Mazda2006dmf Sep 18, 2019 at 10:49 AM about the 2006 Mazda MAZDA3

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2006 Mazda 3 car has been giving me
issues . In the past two days I’ve put a new
battery, alternator, & the two belts (the bigger
one was split down the middle) but my car is
still giving me issues . My tachometer quickly
increases and decreases when barely
pressing on gas pedal . My car dies out and
the engine light comes on.( only time engine
light displays) . Once I turn my car all the way
off and crank it the car will start up right away
but still dies out.

I bet you that your belt isn't tight and it's slipping. That is what it sounds like. Or - it's not routed correctly.
