IF the water you added immediately ran onto the ground you've got a pretty large leak. Driving when low on coolant will cause overheating and driving with an overheatied engine can destroy it. Stop driving it and have it towed to a shop immediately. Damage from an overheated engine can easily cost $2,000 or more.
