truck wont start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had a 96 F150 4.9 6 cylinder engine and I
ran a toggle switch off the solenoid and then
I left the toggle switch on now the truck
won't start what do I do buy a new solenoid
or a new starter

First, We need more info. What happens when you turn the key? Nothing, Many clicks, one loud thud? When you turn on your headlights are they bright? Do the headlights dim when trying to start truck?
