63 impala with 283

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was jumping my impala and as it was turning over  
everything just cutting off. Lights on dash wont do
anything now when I turn the key. If I leave it for
about an hour and go turn the key the lights on the
dash come on but when I turn to start they shut off
immediately.

Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good, all ends, not just at the battery. Have you tried jumper cables?

Thanks oilyspill. It was a bad neg terminal. Now back to my original problem. It cranks now but wont start. I sprayed starter fluid in carb and it starts then dies out every time.
