It has one pump and maybe two filters. Going under the assumption you have a 4A GE 1.6L there is one filter sock on the pump in the tank and some but not all '85's have an in-line canister bolted to firewall. If you have the canister it's in plain sight. If you don't see it no need to search all over. Now this is most likely. But POSSIBLY in '85 depending on what you have...what is the Trim AND chassis code for your Corolla? AE82? It gets even more confusing, Calif Corollas must have the CARB (California Air Resources Board) approved mechanical pump.

See, it depends on if your Corolla was a Japanese import. They were still shipping them in 1985 and not until 1998 were all Corollas built in US. It might have a mechanical fuel pump bolted to block, some parts suppliers show that pump for '85. To see what I'm talking about have a look at: http://www.carid.com/1985-toyota-corolla-fuel-pumps/
