I have a 1990 cressida straight 6 never heard it run, was told it had a blown head gasket, no water in the oil but I was also told it did overheat.....how do I find out exactly what engine is in this
was told it had a blown head gasket, and that it did overheat. No oil and water
mix showing. Don't know the engine size only that it's not a turbo.....how do I
find out the engine size and what's the next move ?
3.0-litre straight six 7M-GE, just because there is NO coolant showing in the oil the head gasket can still be Destroyed I would remove the head and check everything 26 years old!
That is a cool car and it is worth spending some time and money on- the next move is to try to start it and see if it runs-
First thing I would check is be sure that the fan clutch on water pump that cools the radiator and A/C condenser is working. Have 88 since new 120000 miles , fan clutch went out 3 times. Rockauto had them last week. First thing I noticed was that the A/C will barely cool ... Freon was checked and AOK new clutch and now works like new. And cools much better. Ever since new the temp gauage only goes to 50 percent even when clutch was bad.
