What does it mean when the Check Engine light come on the same time as the VSC and TRAC Off warning lights?

Asked by BigChris Oct 07, 2013 at 10:30 AM about the 2005 Toyota RAV4

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I accelerated to pass a car, the VSC off, TRAC off, and Check Engine light all came on the same time.  I know I need new shock absorbers, but why would the Check Engine light come on?

I have a 2006 Toyota Rav4. The check engine light, VSC light, tire light, and light with the car like it's going around a curve. Took it to Auto Zone and the said a sensor. What could this be with all lights on at once.

Check rear brake pads. if they do not slide well, speed control sensors send odd data to computer.
