randomly. I heard some clicks coming from under dash and
my gauges (speedometer, tachometer) would freeze in
place then completely drop, do me light would come on a
long with door ajar light. Car would continue to run and
drive just fine but still makes me worry of possible
breakdown with not knowing  what is wrong

The battery light really means the alternator is acting up and there are voltage fluctuations that make the computer mad and it will do all kinds of stuff. Go to an auto parts store and have your battery and alternator tested for free and see what's going on. If I am correct about a failing alternator, your battery will soon become discharged to point it will stall and not have enough power to crank up. So don't turn the engine off until you are in a safe place or a repair shop.
