What is causing my left brake light to go off and back on when I use my turn signal. I have replaced the steering column and it still does this.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1977 chevy camaro.  When I use my turn signals it makes the left brake light go off and comes back on when I wiggle the blinker switch.  I previously owned a 1974 camaro that had the same problem, so I assume it is a manufacturer's defect.  I have replaced the steering column, but this problem still exists.  Any ideas?

I would check your grounds first. It sounds like something is not grounded. Maybe the signal switch is bad or loose. Good luck..
