Had just replaced the tranny recently, took for a little drive, pulled to a red light
and lost all gears, absolutely all gears.. pushed it to a lot, let it sit for about an
hour, started it up and it slipped into gears and we got her home. seems once it
gets warm/hot it loses the gears..

You probably put in a used automatic transmission ( Junk in Junk out ) This why I won't install used transmissions . Plan on putting in another transmission or rebuilding your tranny
