speedometer cable on a 1992 toyota pickup

How do i change my speedometer cable? 1992 toyota 2wd pickup manule trany 4 cyl. could it be a memory thing becouse it had no battery in all winter i just put in a battery and a starter?

That particular model does not have a cable, it is an electronic speedometer with a speed sensor mounted in the transmission. Check all the wires coming from it, then the sensor and last check the actual gauge in the dash.

you could also have a bad cluster,check all fuses.
