catalytic converter stolden

2001 Prius catalytic converter stolden need to replace.There are tons of 2001
Prius cc on ebay.I was told the Magnaflow direct fit cc was the only on to use
and the universal cc was to be avoided.Is this good information?

This all depends on what state you are in. If you are in California or a state like it you need the EXACT correct part as listed on the states air quality website.

You also need to check the vehicle emission control sticker under the hood to determine which emission system you have. There's a few different ones. Federal Emissions, California Emissions, Northeast States Emissions, etc. My 2000 Grand Prix has California Emissions and was originally delivered to New Jersey. So does my 03 S10 Pick Up that was originally delivered to Delaware. I've had a universal converter on the Grand Prix since 2013 with no problems. A universal converter is cheaper than a direct fit converter and will do just as good a job. As long as you have the right one for your emission system. Personally I wouldn't buy a used converter from Ebay, but that's just me. Check out Rockauto.com for a new one. Hope that helps! Jim

Js is right. You need the emissions sticker number to get the correct cat. The VIN will not get what you need.
