to change the bulb it is not too hard.... i have a 2000 sunfire that i just changed the bulb in. to do so yo have to take out the center console. i didnt take it completely off the E Brake, just took out 4 bolts and lifted it up. to get to one of the bolts you will have to pop off the square where the power window buttons are. you will see wires that go into a plastic box right beside the shifter. it you turn that the bulb will come down and you can stick in a new one. the bulb is a 194. then you just put the bulb back up in there, bring the console back down and put the bolts back in and you're good to go!

EXTREMELY EASY. step 1 take the plate cover ring off the prndl cover. 2. unscrew 4 bolts located in the center consel, under the change holder right by the e brake. and pry the the circle cap in front of the prndl where the little storage bin is to get to the last bolt. then lift the center consel and ull c the light under the drivers side of the consel. take that out and then repalce it then there u go
