is it normal for brake lights to not come on with engine off

Asked by Mike Mar 16, 2017 at 12:04 AM about the 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix

Question type: General

I thought you get in your car put your foot on
brake and brake lights come on without
turning key on..not so with 06 grand prix
brake lights do not work unless key is on
Is this normal??
