Air compressor will not kick on/only hot air blows

Question type: General

New belts replaced because when I turned on air conditioner, it would slip and
make noises. Air conditioner was working great for a few months. Then went to
drive it the other day and air compressor will not engage and I only get hot air.
Watched video on YouTube that says a certain brand of coolant will seal leaks.
Not sure if that is the problem. What do you suggest?

Solved my own problem with buying and adding Freon. Followed directions watching YouTube video and with help from O'Reilly's employee. Compressor kicked on. Freon level was too low for it to work until level was up. Possible leak but used AC Pro to fix two problems at once. Saved gauge off Freon can for future use.
