my nissan frontier has poor cab heat does a poor job in defrost mode cooling system is full heater hoses are hot to the heater core hot out of the heater core in defrost mode the a.c. pump is working

Could have a blend/mode door issue. Does yours have a cabin air filter? If so is it clean? The ac compressor should be coming on when defrost is selected.
no cab filter service manual does not tell how to adjust air blend they are cable operated I have removed the dash taken out the complete assembly yes the a.c. pump is on in the defrost mode
Your blend door will either be electric motor activated or vacuum activated.
there are no vacuum motors or electric motors in this assembly these operate by push pull cables
I have the same problem too on my 99 nissan frontier only the air comes out of the defroster and thats all " i took it apart and seen that the cable is attached and the gears move with so i don't know what it can be "
