Computer not programmed properly causing engine to burn oil?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm in an ongoing dispute with Subaru due to engine
burning oil.  The shortblock was replaced in September and
the oil light came back on two weeks ago.  Took the car to
the dealer and they're saying they reprogrammed the
computer supposedly it wasn't properly calibrated when
they replaced the shortblock.  I'm no mechanic but that
sounds like bs to me.  Any opinions?

Ugh thats what Im thinking, just last weekend they said they ran test and it failed the combustion test and I may need a new engine now they say it was just the computer wasnt programmed after shortblock replaced wth?! I drove the car about 5k miles now since shortblock was replaced, havent had any issues besides oil light now coming on for the millionth time

There are computer updates but I seriously doubt they have anything to do with oil consumption.

I took oilyspill advice and called the dealership were I purchased the car and asked their service department what they thought, even they called bs. Waiting for soa to finish their "investigation" should be receiving a call next week
