What causes O/D light to blink and check engine light to come on?

car was driving fine .O/D light started flashing and check engine light appeared after stopping at light and the a bang noise then lights?Left car for awhile then car was started no O/D light flashing just check engine light. Drove fine???

Going to have to scan the computer for codes. if you had a check engine light, there should be a code stored.
What cause o/d light toflashes
Chake your o/d senssor it may be required to replaced
Throttle position sensor is unplugged or faulty.
There is a button on the end of gear shift that you may have pressed accidentally...press it again and the light should go out.
Yes but if you push the O/D button the Hold light stays on , thats normal. If the Hold light flashes , thats different means a transmission fault. Also the check engine light will come on to sometimes. Head for a "good" diagnostic man with modern eqt.
The throttle positioning makes it so much cheaper fix lol
