I have a 1998 Lincoln Cont. and when we locked in hot weather, in the open sun, the
alarm will sound when the interior get too hot. When left unlocked we do not have the
problem. When the alarm sounds and the doors are unlocked, the doors not opened, the
alarm will stop and not restart. what is the issue and how can I correct it?

Park it in the shade? Sadly there is no real fix for problems like this apart from disabling the alarm entirely. The hot interior causes warm airflow along sensors where the alarm doesn't expect it which activates the alarm. Unlocking the car will reset and deactivate the alarm.

How can I fix the door over the gas cap that fails to open when I push the button on the door and when I pull the release in the trunk (unless I use a putty knife to open it at the same time)? 1 Answer

To open the door over the gas cap, I have to pull the release in the trunk and then insert a putty knife behind the door. Not really convenient!

The switch I'm inquiring about isn't in the manual. I can't figure out what it goes to. This car was owned by my grandfather, one owner, and it's not been modified. This is a factory switch.
