Car Fails To Start When Left Sitting For Days

Asked by GuruF1VR6 May 27, 2020 at 09:31 AM about the 1999 Lexus ES

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After the Auto Shop replaced my Battery 3 times in 3 months (+ the
Alternator once) my 1999 Lexus ES-300 still fails to start if left sitting for a
few days and then requires a jump start.  They claim to have checked every
fuse in an attempt to find a 'phantom power drain' but were unsuccessful
(And when the car is left with them for days at a time it "always starts".)
Should I just go to a different Auto Shop???

Actually I've been vacillating between taking the car back to the same Auto Shop, trying a different Auto Shop, or just using a Trickle Charger. Based on your reply I've decided to purchase a Trickle Charger, and thus potentially save myself the expense of potentially hundreds of dollars pursuing a solution that may never be resolved. Thank You.
