Lexus SC430 acceleration

Question type: General

A recently bought a 2002 SC430 and I find that the pickup is slow when I'm at a
standstill even when in Power mode. When I want to join traffic on a main road I
have to make sure I have plenty of space or I slow down the traffic.  I came
from a 6 speed Mini CooperS. Am I just making an unfair comparison or Is this
normal for this model?

The SC 430 is supposed to be a plushy luxury convertible, so it doesn’t have the best performance, but is just merging into the highway an issue, because if it is, you should get that checked out, it’s should be as bad as that.

Sounds like you need a tune up. Merging with traffic is a breeze with mine. However, I have added a full Borla exhaust
