Lexus ES330 what could cause a clicking or popping noise when driving?

when driving, especially on a bumpy road over 15mph, can hear a clicking or popping noise most noticeably on the driver side.  Engine and tires seem fine, could it be the wheel bearing?

i found a loose nut under the hood at the top of the strut drivers side after tighting no more rattling noise.
