power steering hose

Asked by NBE Aug 03, 2020 at 06:05 PM about the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am having issues with the power steering hose of our 2016 Traverse.  It
leaked fluid and destroyed the O2 sensor, engine harness, and of course
need to replace the hose...which Im told takes an upwards of 7 hours.
I have heard of faulty design issue when it comes to this power steering.
And i will say the engine light was on, then off...never pulsing. Has this been
a common issue for this vehicle?  2016 Traverse.

I'm not seeing 7 hours. Around 2 hours is what I see on yourmechanic.com. I'd get a second opinion! The wiring harness, unless it's burned, doesn't need to be replaced. Once the hose is replaced you can use an engine degreaser to clean the area that got power steering fluid on it. Hope that helps! Jim
