Should we replace this engine

Asked by GuruR3FK7 Feb 18, 2020 at 06:45 AM about the 2015 Jeep Cherokee

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We were told yesterday that the lifts on our Jeep
Grand Cherokee 2015 have worn out and our
engine is destroyed.   To replace with a new engine
they say is $8,000.  Does this sound right to you

How many miles on the engine??? 2015 and engine is already "worn out"? None of what you are saying sound right. That price is also excessive. A dealership might want 4,000 to 5,000 for a new crate engine installed. 8,000? That's robbery. And how exactly is your 4 year old motor already 'worn out' and 'destroyed'?? Can you provide specifics?
