Cannot start it via remote start or while sitting in the car?

Vehicle is equipped only with push button start. Not remote start. Key fob locks and unlocks doors while sitting in driver seat but computer fails to detect key fob inside vehicle. could it be something to do with just changing the battery in the key fob? I put a new battery in today and all of a sudden I'm having this problem

Open the cáe you will see 4 to 6 small arms on each sides of the cases, design to touch the battery and bronco pad when closed up, , try to rise the arm a little bit upward, , and when you closed the case together make sure they are fully closed. Good luck

I know this may sound crazy but take the fob instead of your finger and use it to push the start button while you have your foot on the break it should start. Its caused by electrical interference

Solved the issue, follow steps below! 1) with your foot OFF the break press the push to start button with the remote twice to change the light to run 2) Place your key in the driver side door handle 3) press down in the break and press and hold the button with your finger in to stat the car. It should work now! Hope it works for you all ! Cheers

Changed the battery and place the key fob against the start button. When into run mode but engine didn’t start. Checked battery voltage and it read 7.4. So have it a jump and it started.

Replace all speakers in my 2016 Dodge Charger rt. Now my key fob is not detected. I can lock and unlock door, I can open trunk, panic mode work, and I can remote start all from the key fob. I just can’t press the remote start button in my car. My door sensor stop working also.

Just changed battery on key fob for my 2011 Chrysler 200. Now my car is completely dead. What did I do wrong?

Problem started shortly after battery charge. Short term remedy was to hold fob below push botton start, appx just below bottom of dashboard and it detects fob and starts.

I’m also looking for an answer my fob has new battery and unlocks/locks and panics fine. But the car won’t unlock if I touch handle nor will it start car. I ended up removing the panel on lower driver side of center console (close by foot) and stuck the key in the corner of the hole closest to the seat and it starts the car. Still looking for the fix so I don’t have to do this to drive anymore.

Put the key in the ignition hold the lock bottom for 20secs and push and turn the key. It will recognize the fob. Good luck.

And for anyone else experiencing this problem where key fob is not detected but it unlocks and locks doors when you press button, It ended up being that I needed a new key fob itself. I just said screw it and purchased one and took it to the dealer for programming. And now it works as it should.

Had this very same thing happen to me. it took roughly 45 minutes to finally get the fob recognized in order to start the car. took it straight to the dealership. I was told it had a bad module and this module is what speaks to the key fob and when the module is bad, you have to replace it. But the module only speaks to the key it was programmed to. So replacing the module means cutting 2 new keys and programming 2 new fobs. This wound up costing me $890 when all was said and done. 2015 Chrysler 200 Limited. Got the 2 new keys and the dealership said if I run into that problem again, to use the other key to get it going and bring it back to the dealership. I can't even fathom why this is the only car that doesn't seem to come factory installed with a failsafe when this happens. Other cars have the ability to use the actual fob as a key or have an ignition to use the hard key in. Poor design on Chrysler's part and a costly repair on a car that I had owned less than a 2 weeks before this problem occurred.

@guru78wxs I actually ended up having to buy a new key fob and a new computer for the car. cost me about 820 including 150 to tow the car to the dealership from my driveaway and unlucky for me, while I was looking online for a solution my warranty expired 2 days before the dealership took it. SUCKS!!! I think they lowkey plan this timing very costly but..its life

Foot off the break. Use the remote to push the start 3 times. Then put the key fob in the door handle. Then press the break and hit start. 2015 Chrysler 200s

Mine did this cause i had accumulated over $60 worth of coins in the little receptacle the receiver sits under. Cleaned out all the coins and it stopped. All the metal must have been disrupting the signal.
