2014 Chevy Equinox Power Seats Won't Recline

Asked by volcomfrm Aug 12, 2019 at 10:32 AM about the 2014 Chevrolet Equinox

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My wife's 2014 Chevy Equinox recently developed a rather curious problem
with both its passenger and driver seats. Both of these seats are automatic
in nature and simultaneously developed an issue with reclining. Specifically,
they won't recline, or, it takes many many attempts to get them to recline.
They will lean forward without issue but one must repeatedly press the
recline control (sometimes 30 or 40 times) to get them to recline. This
problem started occurring on both of these seats at the exact same time so I
assume the issue is something electrical in nature. My hope is this is a
simple fix; any input would be welcome! Thanks.

I have a similar problem. The drivers seat will recline, but takes many attempts to bring it back to the upright position. Is there a master "brain/computer" that maybe our problem? It doesn't feel or seem like a problem with the chair itself.

Raise the seat up fully and then try it. Mine had an ice scrapper blocking the track underneath. Works 100% now.
