Acua Tsx Radio Code Issue

Asked by VICTORcbd Mar 29, 2019 at 12:10 AM about the 2013 Acura TSX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I have a 2013 Acura TSX and after restarting
my battery after it died I was locked out of the
radio. I got the S/N and have confirmed with Acura
that I have the correct radio code, but my car
requires I input the code via the preset buttons 1-6
and my radio code has an 8 in it. Acura says I
should be able to input the code by the
power/select knob to cycle through numbers but I
can’t. The only possible way to input the code is
with the preset buttons 1-6; there is no way to
input a number greater than 6. Both myself and the
customer support at Acura are stumped.

How can I input the code with the knob or how can
I bypass this whole process and access my radio?

tl;dr - my correct radio code doesnt work bc it
includes an 8 and i can only punch in numbers up
to 6

I have the same issue and in talking with the Acura rep on the phone she came to the conclusion that the code that I was able to get is for the NAV and not for the radio. However, she was unable to help me in figuring out how to get the correct code and told me I will need to take it in to see the dealer. I'm wondering if my next option is to try and pull the radio and see if the serial number is on the radio somewhere so I can use that to get the actual code that I need to get it unlocked.

Radios 5 digit codes are located on outside of the glove comportment. You may access the code after opening the compartment and it will be displayed on either end of the door.
