Question type: Car Customization

I have an 1996 Ford Thunderbird with a 4.6L motor that died. I can get a Ford 5.0L I can get for a song.  The only question is
what kind of headache am I in for by making the change.  I know that it is the same motors as the Mustangs have so, I  believe it
should bolt up and the motor mounts shouldn't be an issue.  If the motor didn't die I would want to upgrade the 4.6L or move into
a 5.0L anyway. I need to have a car that can beat a 2004 Subaru WRX so my son "will know his place."  LOL

if you going to put in a 5.0L engine it can be done you'll be pushing it for room in the engine compartment but i hadd the 95 with a 4.6L v8 and i was told you can install a 5.0L so go for it the extra power will make you destroy anybody you'll race

it shouldnt too hard. just crosscheck yours with an earlier model. i forgit what year, but before the 4.6 it was the 5.0 in the t-birds.

I am not sure. What is the difference? What kind of problem is associated with each motor option? Thank you for your help.

just so that you know the gen 1 5.0 is the 302 winsor and the gen 2 5.0 is in the new raptor. you should have no problem with the 302, just change your wiring and double check your mounts because before they used the 4.6 it was the 302 in the thunderbirds.
