Car radio

Asked by scorpiojizz Feb 17, 2011 at 03:37 PM about the 2005 INFINITI FX35

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2005 fx car radio recently stop working.  It will not read/play any cds.  I took in to the dealer and they told me that they would have to replace it not giving me a real explaination as to why it stopped working other than to say it was old.  Unfortunately my car warranty just expired with my milage at 61,000.  Is there anywhere else other than a dealership that i can get this fixed?

I have a 2005 FX that had the same problem a while ago and lucky for me it was still under warranty. I did google this problem prior to taking it in and noticed that it seemed to be a trend with the Bose system installed on infiniti vehicles. Point this out to the dealership and see if they will work with you on either replacing it at no cost or at a discounted price. There should really be an extended warranty applied to these systems as they are flawed. Check several dealerships and you may have some luck.
