How do I remove a stuck spark plug boot on a Honda Passport 2001?

Spark plug boot on 2001 Honda Passport is stuck. How to remove it without
tearing it. 2wd.

They do have a spark plug boot remover tool but other then that if you can clamp a pair of vise grips onto boot close to where it connects to plug then pull. It worked for me a couple of times but no guarantee.
