Need Advice...to buy or not to buy!?!

Someone near me is selling his 1972 Super Beetle
Convertible for $5000. She says it needs a new
brakeline and some tlc. Apparently this model is
the last year VW had the "flat windshield". Don't
know much else about it. Need advice on what
questions I need to ask and what would make it
worth the $5000, or is the price way over market
value? Here's a pic of it.

Additional info....73000 miles and manual transmission. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Tks
