Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I HAVE A 1972 SUPER BEETLE, IT WAS RUNNING LIKE A CHAMP. NOW IT TURNS
OVER BUT WILL NOT START. I INSTALLED A NEW FUEL PUMP, NEW CARB. NEW
PLUG WIRES, NEW POINTS , NEW CONDENSOR, NEW ROTOR, NEW COIL. AND
PUT NEW WIRES FROM THE COIL, AND A NEW IGNITION SWITCH. I HAVE
STATIC TIMED IT SEVERAL TIMES AT TOP DEAD CENTER AND A LITTLE PAST
THAT. ONCE IN A WHILE IT WILL POP. I HAVE SPARK UP TO THE POINTS. ALL
THE FUSES ARE GOOD. HOPE YOU CAN GIVE ME AN IDEA OF WHAT IS WRONG.
THANKS.  MARIO

Get some white marker and mark the timing so you can get back to the original setting Have someone crank it while you rotate the distributor ... my guess is either the timing or dwell is off

So, you've brought it all the way up on #1 and the rotor is on #1 on the cap? If you're just one tooth off, it's not going to start. Also, have you checked to see if you've set it 180 out?
