My car does not pick up ( move when accelerate ) ?

I kept my car at parking on my job. After work when I tried to go home it was feeling hard
to move . Somehow I managed to go home. Then I tried to take it to mechanics after some
distance it did not move on acceleration . then i need to tow it.
