2000 dodge stratus, engine shudder

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently put a distributor in my friends 2000 stratus, and now he has the issue
that the car will randomly shudder almost like its misfireing or running on 5cyl. Ive
checked the wires and plugs and they are ok, this issue only happens at random
times but is mostly is at a idle or in the 55-60mph range. My thought is the new
distributor is faulty and is misfireing at certain rpm ranges but im not a dodge guy
so idk if people have had this issue before.

Its most likely might be because the timing is off. You have to time them when you put them on.

How could the motor be outa time? The cam cant move with the timing belt intact, and the dustributor only goes in 1 way its not like u can be off a tooth
