Horn honks when I turn my steering wheel.

Asked by Chandler Jun 03, 2020 at 01:00 AM about the 1998 GMC Sierra C/K 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I turn my steering wheel, my horn honks
in random places for no reason. I have
replaced my relay, checked my switch, and
even went as far as spending $200 on a new
clock spring. Nothing is fixing the issue.
Please help!

does it do it to one side or the other or does it not matter what way you are turning? for the sounds of it you have a bare wire that is making contact with a ground that is causing it to honk.

How does the switch work? I have removed it to see what happens and nothing changes. I have already replaced my clock spring

Possible pinched or damaged wires in the steering column.
