I have a squeel sort of appears to come from transfer case, with truck off, rolling by hand, in forward only. going back it dosent make the sound at all. what could this be?

I have a 1993 GMC K1500 4x4, with truck off I roll it forward and get this little squeel,
going backwards it dont do it. I jacked up 1 rear tire and had wife turn it while i was under
truck and it seems like its coming from the transfer case. It almost sounds as if it's dry/
needs grease or lube. Is there a way to do this to the t-case? what could it be? possible
ideas or fixes? Its my only vehicle so Im really concerned.
