7.4 454 vortec in to a 1988 gmc 1500

Question type: Car Customization

Would a 7.4 454 fit into my 1988 gmc 1500 with the v6 in
it? I know it would need upgrading but Iam referring to the
space under the hood

A 454 was optional in your truck so yes it will fit.

I do have a donor complete with suspension and all. You suggest I just start with frame and swap everything?

If your frame is good I would swap just what you need. A full frame swap is a lot of work in your driveway. The rear axle and transmission will probably need swapping too.
