Location of the low A/C recharge port for 2001 ford Eddie Bauer 5.4 engine 4x4

There is a black plastic box against the firewall beside the battery with the accumulator/dryer (round black cylinder with ac lines going into it) below the box. Look/feel on the side of the cylinder & you will find the low pressure valve cap. This is where you put the refrigerant!

I believe I located the Port to recharge my Ac on my 2000 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer edition . It does not have a cap on it. Do I need to buy a cap first before I charge it??
