Looking for name of part between motor and transmission

I have a 1985 CJ7, 5 speed. Last year I was
having all the wiring redone. They noticed
the starter was the wrong size and the
moron who had the Jeep before decided to
just cut apart the metal plate that sits
between the motor and transmission to
make room for the wrong starter. Now I'm
looking for this plate because the right
starter is now in. No one seems to know
what this part is called..not even quadratec
who claim to be jeep experts. Any help
would be appreciated!

Bell housing? That's what has the clutch inside between engine and transmission on a longitudinal engine. I know that's too obvious. On the bottom is an inspection plate...? Removable to look at flywheel. Exactly what engine is it, and if you could take a picture that would REALLY help
