SRS light

Asked by Leatte May 20, 2016 at 11:33 AM about the 2009 Mitsubishi Galant

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm thinking o buying a 2009 Mitsubishi
galant but it has some dash lights on and I
need to know if these are just minor
problems with a simple fix. So the "service
engine soon" light is on but I'm thinking it is
in need of an oil change BC I test drove it
and it drives great. The "SRS" light is on and
right below that is a "(!)" Light on. What does
that mean? Do the lights go together or do
they each mean there is a different problem?
The asking price is only $3600 which I feel is
an awesome deal if there isn't any major
problems. I don't want to spend a fortune for
my teens first car, but I definitely want to
know they will be safe. Thanks!

If you are from the United States this car will not pass a state inspection with the SRS light on. It means there might be a problem with the air bag, Safety Restrain System.
