any number of things can precipitate this condition...get the diagonstic OBD-II trouble codes read from your auto parts store or get a code reader (cheap) and find out fer ye self~
Thanks judge Roy, I have a code reader but being so intermittent I don't believe I will see a code does it not have to be active? Right now usually on the third attempt it starts. I will differently hook up to it and check for codes. Bill

this vehicle is in Canada? think basics....air, fuel, spark, timing---both ignition and sadly CAM timing too~ one of these basics is mis-behaving~ you are on the road to diagnosis of your problem through elimination, perhaps your code reader needs a new 9v battery (if that's what it takes)~
Came up with no signal from transponder in key, try other key. Got new key cut and programmed was good for a day.
