have a 74 karmann ghia starts right up goes 75 mph. when I stop the car it dies and won't restart till cold. Isitthe fuel pump, carb, or what?

First check the ignition points adjustment. They can affect startup. Next would be the ignition coil and condenser, which can quit when hot and work again once cooled down.
