Slow start

Hi I have a 1966 Pontiac Catalina and i was told i had freeway gears in the rear
end meaning top in was great but slow from the start . What kind or size of
gears should i look into to get a little more from the start

First identify the gear ratio you have now. Look for a tag on the rear diff.
