2002 Mustang Over Heating

Other than a bad water pump you could have a blown head gasket. Does the engine oil look normal color & consistancy? Is it white & milky?

I agree with above answer- leaning more towards bad water pump. Mileage? History?
Check the cooling fans are actually coming on. Turn AC on full as that will make fans come on, to verify they are working.

I’ve hardly seen bad pumps but it’s a possibility. Is the repl. stat in correctly? Sensor facing block? How long does it take to oh? Are you getting heat from heater? Can you see coolant flowing with rad. cap off & racing engine?
