I have a 1968 pontiac ventura convertiable, canary yellow, black rag top and it is equipped with a 428 HO and hurst 4 spd. My uncle bought this car off the show room floor in ND. He died and my dad did a backyard garage restoration. Where can I find information on this car? Is this car worth a professional restoration?

I seen one for sale in Deals on Wheels many years ago, so I called them and they stated there was only 17 made and mine was the 16th. located. Can this statement be believed? Pontiac says this car was not available until 1969, but this is a 1968.

If it came with the 428 from the factory you have a very nice car. If it was swapped in then it is worth a good bit but less than an all stock car.. Restored to show condition and 100% stock it could easily be worth more than $40,000 and possibly a lot more.

A full professional restoration will cost far more than the car is worth. Depending on the condition of the car now it could easily cost more than a $100,000 for a pro to do an award winning restoration. Driving the car on the road even for a few miles will cost you mucho dinero in lost value.
