I have a 1974 ford f100 recently changed starter alternator cylinoid and voltage regulator.. the truck was running fine fine before changing these out n now have no power to the ignition. nothing happ
U turn key nothing happens sdont no
what to do or how to fix it
you changed the solenoid? did you hook it back up right? Just recheck all your wiring connections- make sure everything is correct- if it was "running fine" why did you do all that work? An old mechanic's maxim: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." This goes along with the physician's warning: "First, do no harm."
The starter was goin bad so i changed that and when you were driving at night the lights would get dim then bright so thought i should go ahead and replace alternator and the solenoid i was told to go ahead n replace that since i repaced everything else.. yes i jave checked all connections and srill nothing
I have checked wiring and everything..
Checked your fuse,s.?
And also ,just recheck wire,s again, all it takes is one wire not hooked up,or in wrong place.
Main positive wire from battery to starter- check it with a test light- power to starter? Ignition switch- check that power is coming out when switched to start- check for power to solenoid- that is a simple, simple machine- if you can't figure it, take it to a good mechanic- he will be thrilled to get somethin' easy to work on- gravy-
You just have to file the points.
