My right exhaust manifold leaks a little exhaust from in between the manifold and the head. Is my manifold warped or is the gasket bad?

I noticed some exhaust leakage coming from the rear of the passenger side coming from in between the exhaust manifold and the head. I think it is the gasket, but some guy looked at it for two minutes and said my manifold needed to be shaved or something. I have a 1969 Ford F-100 with the Ranger package, all original, sporting a 360 and C6 automatic, no power steering/brakes, 3.50 trac lock rear end and longbed.

Cast iron exhaust manifolds can warp but it's usually the gasket that's shot. And besides you can't visually see if it's warped while it's on the truck.

That engine has a history of warped exhaust manifolds. Sometimes a machine shop can mill the flange side and make it true again. This will stop the leak. Or you may have to find a replacement manifold to stop the leak.

It is spiting oil. It looks similar to the one the dip stick tube is plugged into.

I have a 67 F-100 with a 390. I am experiencing an intermittent but annoying problem. The truck will start right up most times don't need to touch the gas pedal. The truck runs for say 10 minutes (this varies) then shuts off like I turned off the key. Sotimes it will start right up and other times I have to hold the gas to the floor. Then the game is on. It will stall and I will get stranded. The truck was put up for the winter & I just took it out. It started right up and after letting run for a few minutes I drove it home about 65 miles. No problems at all. 2 days later I go out starts right up go 2 miles stop for gas and it shuts off before I can turn it off. I have had issues before when it gets hot and it will stall and then not start. Please help. 3 Answers
