The sound of engine is not smooth (up and down) when it stops.

Asked by asimbiswas Jun 11, 2012 at 07:11 AM about the 2007 Ford Falcon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have 2007 Ford Falcon, 4.0 L, V6, sedan. The sound of the engine is not smooth, when it drives, it is
fine, but when it stops, the sound is regularly intermittent. The sound is really regular, kind of regular
sound breaking, not smooth. The sound is not smooth and constant, rather up and down a little bit,
mainly when it stops. Recently, done the servicing for the 75K from the ford dealer. They dint get any
problem... any idea, from where it may be coming..
Thanks for your help.

Have you tried turning the aircon off? And it's a straight 6 not a v6.

Hi Max, thanks for your comments. the sound is more prominent when the aircon is off. Also when the car is running, the ups and downs in sound is not identifiable. this is mainly coming when the car is at stop, such as red light, parking or so. And you are right, it is straight 6 i guess and not v6. thanks.
