What can I do when my Car is Overheating

Hi,
  I recently replaced the clutch in my 73 MGB, before the replacement the car
temp gauge ran when hot just above the normal position now it takes hardly
any time to get to just below the hot position,,,,,,,, any suggestions as to the
problem.
