Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 67 sprite with the 1275 motor, I
replaced the slave cylinder now I need
fluid. Should I be using hydraulic fluid like
for a jack? I tried power steering fluid but
there's no pressure.

Okay... making things worse... I used power steering fluid... connected a hose to the bleader and kept it tight... filled the master and pumped... absolutely no pressure... cracked the bleader and pumped nothing... I made sure the push rod for the master was moving when I pushed the clutch... but still no pressure... please help... and I attempted to remove the master but there is a bolt on the bottom that I can't get a wrench on...

Recommended fluids for 1275: Eng Oil: SAE 20W/50 Gearbox: SAE 20W/50 Carburator Dashpots: SAE 20W/50 Rear Axle: SAE 90EP Steering Hydroid Gear Oil: SAE 140EP Thermostat: 82 degree Anti-Freeze: Regular Firing Order: 1 - 3 - 4 - 2 Clutch Fluid: SAE Ji703 or FMVSS 116 DOT 3
